Can't believe you tied your PR. How tough is that? Still, a PR is a PR, right?

I would say the Hammer products were a big factor in my race performance:

3 scoops of Sustained Energy and 3 Endurolyte capsules for breakfast at 5:00am
6 Endurolytes during the race (3 at 9 miles, 3 at 18 miles)
1 flask (4 scoops) of Perpetuem sipped throughout the race before every water stop
Post-race Recoverite mixed with water

Feeling good today. Can't believe I'm not aching or have any muscle soreness.

Great Half Shane! Finally had some time to look at the results...

Hope you had half as much fun as I did!

Thanks for the welcome! Good luck in the half marathon this weekend!

Yes, the [few] times I've completed a Yasso 800 workout has been a good indicator of my marathon finish time. The most recent example I can remember was a finish time of 2:57 and 800m repeats between 2:56 and 2:59 (average 2:58)

Not bad...and as long as you've put in the marathon training, it should be fairly accurate.

Good luck!

I see in your goals you have a race coming up this weekend - good luck! How has the weather been for you in MD? Here is it still windy, rainy, chilly.

I am going to run the Cherry Pit 10 miler in Edgewater, probably. It'll just be a slow, fun recovery run though.

That's interesting that you clocked almost .2 further for the half marathon. I guess .5 for teh full isn't that much of a stretch. I just like the sound of an 8:18 average better!
Good job on your finish!

Thanks Shane, congrats to you too! I actually feel really good today, I had a lot of IT band pain during the second half of the race and it's still a bit sore, but for the most part I'm back to normal. I'll be at the Cherry Blossom 5K, I knew I wouldn't be able to do 10 miles so close to the marathon. Then I get to take a few weeks off before training for the RnR Half in VA Beach starts... then it's the Marine Corps Marathon!
