I started running in Sept 2006, I recieved a new artificial knee in Nov. 2005 at the ripe old age of 49...that Sept. I signed up for a 2 mile walk and enjoyed so much I decided to just start running. I have quit smoking after 30 yrs, lost 94 lbs. and feel great! My daughters are proud of me.
Everyone comments on great I look, makes me blush. Since that Sept. I have run a 5k race every week-end except for 3 a year where I volunteer at other races. Now my dog Joker runs with me every chance he is allowed.
I guess my goal this year is to be picked to run my first ever half-marathon in Grandma's half-marathon lottery.... I am so nervous, I hope my artificial knee holds up. but I have to try it just once in my lifetime just so I can say "I Tried"!
