lol...yeah, I got sick of week 3 making me feel bad...so I invented week 2.5.....lol. I ran day one of week 2.5 today....OMG....MUCH BETTER!!! It was still hard....but I was able to get through without holding on....everytime I felt like holding on I looked and I only had like 15 secs left...so I powered through it. I have to say today was my best run so far (in this second time around)  The only change I made is in week 3 you are suposed to run for 3 minutes straight...I changed that to 2 minutes. I'll do week 2.75 if I have to....but I'm keeping my speed at 6MPH!!!!!

I thought GR was a prettier race with all of the fall colors and all.
VA Beach is mostly neighborhoods with bits in the woods and on a
military base.  They are both pretty flat but VA Beach has way better
accommodations ($85 for a oceanfront suite at Best Western right on the
finish line) and one killer beer tent after.  Way more schwag at VA as
well (but you'll pay for it in higher race fees).  Both have great
medals and great people.  Happy running!

Hi Melinda,

Just wanted to wish you the best with your weight loss.

My wife and I recently started seeing a dietitian  and that has made a big difference in understanding food, energy,  While a lot of it is common sense, it makes a lot more sense and is more manageable to follow and see some progress.

We'll keep supporting each other.  Hang in there!

Did you have a chance to do Run Through Hell?
runangel - 8/5/2008 7:38 AM
Hi Monkey,
If you're doing the Run thru Hell this Saturday, please look for the Runners Lounge Sign on a tree by the Barn. I'll try and keep it very obvious.
Also, if you need a map and "visual cues" that you are getting close, check out this site....
http://sites.google.com/site/michiganrunnersgoingtohell/--- if you'd like to meet Loungers before and after the race try and assemble by the tree with the sign. I hope to see you there!

Hello! How's training going?
notoriousrunner - 6/21/2008 3:23 PM
When is the run through hell 5k? I have raced that one about 3 years ago. I probably can, I work a lot of weekends, so it will have to fall on a weekend off! It would be fun.

Hey, that is okay with me...we can plan for something later, or something smaller! I am just happy to be able to chat with you about running! Most people look at me after about 10 seconds they either yawn or say; "you are crazy!" I just say I take it as a compliment. Haha! We should definately do some training together sometime!

Hey! The Aug. 2 relay would be a half marathon each. I want to say that we could have up to 4 people registered?! I will look it up to find out pricing...? How is your training going?
notoriousrunner - 6/16/2008 4:54 PM
I just started official training today. I ran a 3 mile at 25 min. A little slow for me, but it was just a slow day. Last Thursday I ran one in under 23 min. I would like to cut it down to 20 min. We will see. I like distance, so I am trying to work on speedwork. I will be doing Hal Higdon's intermediate 2 training for the marathon. Let me know about that Aug 2 relay so we can make plans to register
