How is training going for the Grandma's Marathon? I hate to break it to you, but you will always feel the whole frustration of a marathon. Maybe Chicago was a little extreme, although you will always feel the same exhaustion, excitement, extremes, wonders and all that whenever you do a marathon...

That's what makes us keep coming back for more...and at the end you will again say the same thing....NEVER SIGN ME UP AGAIN! but then the next day...your signed up for another one...

The tough thing though is doing it alone and that's what I have a whole lot of respect for people whom run by themselves and train by themselves...mental toughness.

Keep me updated on how that goes...can't be as hot as Chicago this year. Glad you finished!! Congrats! what a birthday present though, not being able to walk!

Next marathon: Austin in February 17th...then Boston...then Steamboat, CO...then San Francisco and finally (subject to change: NYC again)...

Hi Kelly. I think I met your mother this past weekend in Iowa City. She was so proud of you and enthused about your running. Good luck wrapping up your semester and preparing to for your trip to Ghana. We're glad you've joined the Lounge!

Welcome to the Lounge Kelly! Your story about never wanting to do one again made me laugh. So many runners have been there before. Makes us realize that never can be a really short period of time.
