I started running a little over a year ago to try and lose some extra weight. My wife was training to run in the Susan G Kommen Race for the Cure 5K. I decided to train and run with her. That was my first official race and I have gone on to run in several 5K races during the past year. I completed my first half-marathon in November of last year. For the past 18 weeks I have been training to run in the Ogden Marathon on May 17. I'm ready to go and excited to run in my first marathon. I just found out yesterday that I got a lottery spot in the St George Marathon for October. I can't wait.
I completed my first marathon! I ran the Ogden Marathon and finished behind my goal time but was completely happy with the results. The race was well-organized and the course was beautiful.
Next up I'll be training for the St George Marathon on October 4, 2008. I start training in a couple of weeks and I'll be focusing on long runs to build a little bit more endurance.
