Hey Danica!

Hope your running is going well!  Since you added the “Getting Faster”
Connect With Me category to your profile, I thought I would mention a
few new resources we have added to the Lounge regarding that topic.   

Tom has been creating a series of articles on the topic of getting faster and recently published some tips in the Getting Faster section on Understanding Speed Work, Interval Training, and Strides.   We also had many Loungers leave links to articles they created on getting faster that might be useful to you as well.

We
are always looking for great articles, tips and resources on getting
faster.  If you have any you have written or know of any that would be
good additions to the Lounge, please drop me a note.

Hi Danica,
Thank you for asking how I'm doing! I am feeling better, but I do have a stress fracture. I hope to be running again, but it looks like it will be awhile :-(
I have cancelled my races and am resting in order to heal quickly.  Thank you for being so nice- you are so sweet :-)

Hi Danica.  I saw your response to Sharney and am curious about your response re: running on the treadmill.  I think a lot of runners wonder about that. 

Sometime would you mind sharing your views and expertise in a forum on Know-How section.

I am a regular reader of your blog and I LOVE it!!! Thanks for adding me!
You are such an awesome runner and so inspiring, too. I have a question that hopefully you can answer for me. I have been running for about 3 years now. My goals have changed within the last few months. Before I was happy to just run 4-5 days a week and about 5 or 6 miles per run. I now run about 6 days per week and have increased my mileage. I now run 35-40 miles per week. Sometimes my long runs are 10-12 miles and I try to do at least one long run per week. I was never much interested in racing, but after reading so many blogs, I have been inspired to run a half. I am signed up for the Illinois Marathon on April 11th!! I am excited, but really nervous, too. The reason I am nervous is because I have done ALL my running on the treadmill! I've run once or twice outdoors a few years back, but that was it. I know most people say that the dreadmill is boring and much easier than running in the great outdoors. Now I am afraid that I won't be able to run outdoors or at least not as far. I want to start training outside, but right now it  is freezing and snow covered so I will have to wait at least a couple of months. What is your opinion on training on the treadmill? Do you think that running 12 miles on the treadmill is much different than 12 miles on the concrete/asphalt? Please let me know what you think I should do! Thanks so much, Danica!
