Thanks for the bday wishes! Yeah, giving up sugar was DEFINITELY a challenge. I felt great afterward, but boy was it tough!

Well congrats on the great races recently! And good luck on your 5K on the 4th (sorry for the misunderstanding). ;)

We are excited for Jamaica. Leave Tuesday night. We've tried to do a little research on some fun places to go and things to do...aside from laying around doing nothing!

I have been to Russia (2x) and Peru (2x) on mission trips with my church. What did you do in Jamaica? Have you been anywhere else?

4th 5K!! Since the Bolder Boulder or since when? That is great! What have your times been like? Are you satisfied with them?

Have you been to Jamaica? I'm going to Negril. Any suggestions?...

The next 2 years are constant...When I get back from Jamaica I will train for the Denver Marathon in October. Then for Boston in April of 09. Another marathon in the fall...not sure which one yet. Another in the spring of 10...not sure which one yet. One of those 2 will be the qualifier for an ultramarathon I want to do in June of 10. But the training for that is about 9 months. So, I will do these 2 marathons as part of the training. I will also do a variety of 1/2 marathons, 10K's, and 5K's during all this time. So, busy.

Keep me informed about your races and times...

Nebraska must be a cooler place to run than my part of Texas. You have to get out really early to beat the heat. No rain in a month and the heat is unrelenting. I look forward to marathon season in Texas.
Still searching for the 12 step program for runners.

Hey boston,

How's everything? I just returned from Mexico and am laundering only to repack for Jamaica. Unfortunatly, I'm not getting much running in, but I count this pure joy and am trying to accept it for what it is knowing that the next 2 years of my life I will be in constant training. This is good downtime for me.

Any races coming up soon?

Jamboree was great! I don't know if it was the monster mosquittos or the 150% humidity.... but one of them made me go faster than normal and set a new PR. It's still nothing compared to your speed....but every second faster is a positive for me! :o) Before Jamboree I was toying around with running a 1/2 the end of August, but instead, I think I'm going to focus on speed work and make a 1/2 my goal in 2009. Thanks for checking in on me! How are things going for you?

Thanks John! It is a lot of fun. I'm running the hatfield-mccoy half this weekend in west virginia.

Hi Johnny!
Thanks for the kind words. Boulder was a blast and I look forward to conquering it again next year!! I have a 10k on 6/7 here in Grand Island (it's called the June Jamboree), and I'm planning to run a 1/2 in Grand Island (the Bill Seymor). How about you?
