Good luck this weekend in Columbus! I hope you have a great run and can endure the remaining taper madness.

Are you ready to tear it up?? I just posted on Kate's site and I will tell you pretty much the same thing. Enjoy the experience and know that there are times when you will feel lousy during the race. Don't worry... that just means your getting that much closer to the finish. Great luck!

Thanks for the comment! My chiro has been using the ART as well and I have been stretching my brains out. It was good to hear that you can't quite get a stretch to that spot - it is my source of frustration. I have also injured the front hip tendon so I am working on recouping both sides. I keep trying to stop running...but some how slip up and run again.

I am also struggling with a piraformis muscle that isn't cooperating with my running. Anything special you are doing?
smchurchi - 10/10/2007 9:05 PM
Well, my goal is 3:50. If you'd have asked me three weeks ago if I'd achieve it, I'd enthusiastically have said YES! But my nagging groin injury is really slowing me down. I'd probably be smart just to rest until the marathon or maybe run in the deep end of the pool. BTW, have you ever tried deep water running? It's actually very theraputic and would help your piraformis syndrome. I also found A.R.T. therapy (performed by my chiropractor) very beneficial. The piraformis is a long lasting injury but it will improve with time and therapy.

I'll bet your getting excited now... Don't let that little Chicago thing scare you. I think the weather is going to be great for runing. Best of luck.

Yes, my coworkers think I've gone completely mad. Especially after the Chicago fiasco. "You mean, you're still gonna run the marathon?" someone asked me. It was my turn to look at her like SHE was the crazy one. Why would I not run Columbus?? Crazy I tell you. You're very lucky to have a boss that gets it. Mine sure doesn't!! Hope you're enjoying your taper =)
