First and foremost I am a Christian, Trophy Husband, Father, Foster Father and Hawkeye...and I am a Runner!
I was born and raised in Eastern Iowa, went to the University of Iowa (twice, because once just isn't enough), spent 8 years working & living in Kansas City while starting a family. We decided it was time to move back home to God's Country in 2003 and have loved every day of it.
I've been running for about 2 years and have been on a journey that will end but not really on my 40th birthday. That's the day I will be "in the best shape of my life" and will accomplish something I didn't even consider possible three years ago.
I have two blogs that I'm working on currently. One that mostly chronicles my running story and the other that I have started to reach out and support my fellow foster parenting community members.

If you’re tooling around and care to drop by I'd love to get your comments, or if you know foster parents who may be interested please pass the link on to them.
My near term goals include a half marathon in late October and I am preparing for my first full marathon on my 40th birthday, SuperBowl Sunday 2008.
I'm goal throughout my training as been to get down to running weight (I'm currently down from 200 to 175), keep the injury bug at bay, not to let my early success/progress turn into complacency and keep my motivation level high.
So far so good...although I'm eating everything in sight (the "fat guy" is running my life at the moment but the "skinny guy" is still running the training so I'm moving forward).
