I figured it would be easier to respond here to your comment on my page!

I did the Half with a friend, who never ran before. I suckered her into training with me, because the thought of running 2 hours without an ipod (that was the rules, yet i learned no one followed them!) was daunting. She ended up running it with me and we chatted the whole way.

This year, I'm waiting to see what happens at the dr. in a few weeks for my left knee. I've had injury off and on for a few years, but after the Half last April I had some serious pain. Yeah, I know, I waited and ran here and there throughout 2007. Now, I'm going to see about being referred to an ortho to check things out. I am also being more careful about how I run, how I lift and I've cycled more.

Once I can get my knee in good shape, I'll start to plan more races this year. I'm hoping at the very least, I can do 1 half by summer, then 1 half in the fall and then *crossed finger* the NYC Marathon!

My husband doesn't run, but I'm hoping later in life he'll get the bug and become a partner in the journey!

Wow, I hope to follow in your footsteps and get in some ultras in the future. You are amazing with everything else going on in life too! What an inspiration! :)

Welcome to the Lounge! I am in awe of your ability to home school boys and run ultras. I would love to hear more about your lessons you learned. If you have a chance, add a post/link to your "running basics" for Take it and Run Thursday. (http://blog.runnerslounge.com/2008/01/one-of-the-thin.html)

Hi Leah. Welcome to the Lounge! Wow, I admire your passion for vLSD. I've never thought beyond the marathon. You have a great blog and I've read it many times before. Please share your life lessons. Your advice and experience can really help a lot of us.

Good luck with all your goals--home schooling, your training, and your racing.

We're glad you're here!
