If the planets align just perfectly, I'd like to run around 3:35 - 3:40. I'm getting in the miles, but need to shed a few pounds still.

Hi Maritza. I followed Pfitz's programs about six years ago, also when training for Chicago--this year will be my 11th Chicago and 15th marathon overall.

I really enjoyed the challenge of his training programs and believe I got faster. But as I get older I find that I need more recovery time from Pfitz's speed workouts.

So I do a hybrid of his workouts and some of Jack Daniels' workouts, but with ample recovery. I've overtrained and it hurts.

Stay rested and fresh if you can.

What's your goal for this marathon?

It is amazing how running can change lives.

Reading your blog it says you're training for your fourth marathon. Looks like you're using Pete Pfitz's programs. Is it going well? What's your goal for this marathon?

I'm doing Chicago, which is one week before yours, so I know your mileage and intensity are ramping up. Hang in there with the LT runs. We'll be glad we did on race day.
