I am definitely what they call ‘average’. I struggle with my weight, my motivation, and eating what I should.

I’m also what they call ‘middle aged’ and have a life full of activities and distractions. Like many people . . . my work, home, family, hobbies, and social obligations currently prevent me from training for time-consuming events like marathoning. Even though I’m one of those strange people that actually likes running!

I admire those people who can be in marathon shape year after year. I’ve done a couple of marathons in my past and you may have too. It was completely rewarding and enjoyable but boy did it take A LOT OF TIME to prepare for. Today, I’m really busy with work, kids, and life in general – and I just don’t have the time to keep training for hours on end.

Since I really do like to run, I’ve decided to focus on half marathon training. The commitment will be more ‘schedule friendly’ and it will afford me the benefits of staying in the best shape I can.
